Starting August 31, 2025, HubSpot is making a switch from its old scoring properties to exciting new scoring tools. This article is here to give you all the important details about the transition and all the new features you'll get to enjoy.
Key Information for Users of HubSpot's Legacy Scoring Tool
If you're using HubSpot's Legacy Scoring Tool, it's time to act. HubSpot is phasing out the old scoring system, with three important deadlines on the horizon:
- May 1, 2025: From this date forward, creating new score properties with the old scoring tool will no longer be possible.
- July 1, 2025: From this date onward, editing existing score properties with the old scoring tool will no longer be possible.
- August 31, 2025: From this date forward, the old score properties will cease updating entirely and will be retired.
This shift is essential as HubSpot advances towards more robust and adaptable scoring capabilities. The updated Lead Scoring and Health Scoring applications provide improved features that more effectively align with the ways contemporary businesses assess prospects and cultivate customer relationships.

Transitioning from HubSpot's Legacy Scoring Tool to the Lead Scoring and Health Scoring Applications
To smoothly transition from HubSpot's Legacy Scoring Tool to the new Lead Scoring and Health Scoring Applications, you'll need to rebuild your current scoring models in the updated system. While this might seem a bit of a hassle at first, it's a great chance to boost your scoring methods by taking advantage of the new tools' advanced features.
Consider these steps before you dive into migration, or if you're new to using a Lead Score and want to get started:
- Identify key scoring criteria and metrics that align with your business objectives.
- Next, familiarise yourself with the advanced features of the new applications, such as custom event scoring and combined scores, to determine how they can enhance your scoring strategy.

- Engage with your team to ensure everyone understands the changes and benefits, and schedule time for training and testing to validate the new models.
By taking these steps, you can ensure a smooth transition and fully capitalize on the improved capabilities of HubSpot's updated scoring tools.
